Dr. Orhun Aydin
Orhun Aydin is an assistant professor at the departments of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and Computer Science at Saint Louis University. He leads the AI-CHESS Lab at Saint Louis University. His research has a methodological focus on spatially and spatiotemporally explicit formulations of machine learning tasks applied to earth observation data. He works on graph-representations of spatial data for supervised, unsupervised and semi-supervised machine learning approaches. The thematic focus of his work is on computational planning for sustainability under uncertainty, design of geospatial sensor networks, natural hazard identification from Earth Observations, and geodesign planning at the food-water-waste-energy nexus.
